March Update

Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

Dear Backers,

We are writing to check-in and keep everyone updated on the latest status/schedule of how things are progressing.

We have been constantly checking with the shipping company and our factory every step of the way to make sure things are on schedule. We are proud to announce that the first shipment has arrived in Oakland, CA port - while the second shipment is on its way to arrive in Savannah, GA port by March 18th as scheduled. International orders are on track for end-March to mid-April shipment (depending on your country). The factory has continued to assemble and perform quality control to ship more units out. Now that our factory has had all the parts and processes in place and the workers have been through this before, things have been a lot smoother.

Regarding shipment, we have proactively prepared all the required documents so it was relatively seamless to clear customs. The same can be expected for the second shipment to the East Coast. The first units are on their way to our warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will arrive on March 8th so FDA documentation can get processed. (FDA is not actually needed to ship a coffee machine. We wanted to do this right so we took the extra mile to make sure it meets the highest quality standard - something we’re proud to ship to you. All testing has been successfully completed prior to the first assembly.) We have been told to expect this document checking process to take 5 days. After the 5 days, the units will then be ready for last mile delivery to you! This should take around 3-5 days. You will also be receiving the tracking number in your email around then. We will keep babysitting this process and make sure to keep you updated.

Here's the journey of the first shipment on its way to you:

In short, we are on schedule to deliver the first units to the West Coast by March 16th-18th :) The units to East Coast are well on the way - on schedule as well. Final assembly and quality control have resumed for the remaining units as promised by our factory.

In the meantime, we are putting together a series of videos to make sure setting up the device happens smoothly for everyone. We will also have a forum to further our communication beyond shipping. More details in the next update coming soon (next few days)!

Have a wonderful day everyone! Until next time.

All the best,
The Auroma Team

February Update

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." --Thomas Edison

Dear backers,

Here's the update we have been waiting to announce. Our hope is it brings you a sense of calm certainty, peace of mind, and the joy of accomplishing what seemed impossible at times.

There are many Kickstarter projects that failed to deliver. Some of them smaller and less-funded than us, many of them bigger and better-funded. This is not one of those failed stories. We are a success story, thanks to our backer's continuous support to figure this out. Our product was complicated and that made the supply chain even more complicated. There were many things that could have taken us out or caused us to give up, but we delivered the product in the end. It took longer than expected, but we did it.

Last check!
Last check!

What happened? I thought last time you said it shipped? Long story short (details below), we found out a few days before it would have left the shore that we should revise our QA standard. With the new QA standard, the units we had wouldn't pass and we needed to stop the shipment, call back the units, and repackage them before finally passing QA. You saw how many units we already had back then. Now we have shipped officially with FULL quality control. The shipping container has officially left the shore! Our team finally had the option to spend our time (wearily) celebrating. No, we are not a scam. We are real people making this work with what we were given. Thanks again for the opportunity to do this right and all the continuous support :)

Repackaged box. Rest assured, the product is pristine!

So what exactly happened? Our QA/QC engineer did a port inspection on the shipment as a standard procedure. We noticed that one component was consistently not wrapped properly to protect it from scratches through the vibrations/impacts from transportation. Of course, this wouldn't have led to a functional failure, but it was not up to the standard we suffered so long to achieve. To do it right, we decided to take the batch back and retooled our process to ensure consistent quality. The OEM took responsibility for this minor mistake and repackaged everything within a week. The real delay came from the sudden rescheduling of the shipment. Our focus was solely on securing the fastest shipping option we could find (given the fierce competition before all factories closed for Chinese New Year) so we sincerely apologize for not having let you know sooner. Now that the containers have left the port, peacefully crossing the ocean on its way to you - we are proud to announce we have officially shipped!

DATES of ARRIVAL

For Kickstarter and IndieGoGo units: If your order is from Canada/USA, you should receive yours by March 17th (West Coast) and March 31st (East Coast). If your order is international, it would take 2-4 weeks longer to arrive (End of march to mid April).

For website units, you should receive your units by March 17th if your order is from California/Utah/Nevada. If your order is from Tennessee/Kentucky/Alabama/Georgia, you should receive your units by March 31st. More will be coming in the next month as factories reopen after Chinese New Year holidays. Since we already have all the parts in the factory, we are scheduled to continue assembly, quality assurance, and shipping throughout March. We will try to push them to start earlier. Otherwise, the units are expected to arrive throughout April (by the end of April - early May). We will provide more details as we get closer to the dates.

Onward

So is this where we just sign off? Not so fast! Besides pushing our factory to ship the remaining units out as perfectly and quickly as possible, we will continue to monitor the shipping status until you receive the product. Hopefully, things will go smoothly at long last. Fingers crossed!

As for the app, it's going to be online before your first units arrive. Some of you tested out our beta app. We have taken it down to redesign based on your feedback. Coming soon!

Since some of you have asked, we will address it here as well. We do have spare parts stocked just in case you need them in the future. So nothing to worry about.

Hope you enjoy this update everyone. Thanks again for your continuous support! :)

Best,

The Auroma Team

    November/ December Update

    Dear Backers,

Hope things are going well on your side. We’re delighted to inform you that your Orendas have been made, and are on their way to you.

We want to start this update by apologizing for the lack of communication over the past month. We have been truly all hands on deck with the goal of getting through the mass production phase as smoothly as possible.

Here’s a sneak peek of our assembly floor moments before packaging and sending the units off:

Fam, please meet ORENDA AND FRIENDS

We have been waiting for so long for this day to come. While we did account for the time it would take for a product to ship by sea (approx. 30 days), we didn't expect the holiday season to derail our shipping queue by such a large amount of time. It took a while to iron out all the little details in our supply chain and shipment together but we did it in the end! We thank you for all your support and patience throughout the entire process.

As most of you may know, the most reasonable way to ship such a delicate yet ‘heavy’ product is via ocean freight. Some of the shipments have left, and the majority will start leaving next week and arrive in early February. We’ll be sending you a shipment notification email along with your unique tracking number, once your shipment has arrived at our warehouse for final shipment. Our entire team will be working throughout Christmas and New Years to make sure this entire phase goes as smoothly as possible. We’re so close. Let’s finish this strong! :)

Getting a hardware product off the ground has been tough with new surprises and challenges every step of the way. Seeing how Orenda helps bring great coffee to coffee lovers- definitely makes this journey worth it. Below is a quick video of our early testers' feedback on the product. Words cannot describe how excited we are to get this into your hands.

Thank you for joining us on this journey and for making this happen! If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at support@auromabrewing.com

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays :)
